Employee Job DescriptionJob Title: Director, Talent and Leadership Development
Reports To: Vice President, Human Resources
DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to lead the enterprise wide talent development strategy, fostering a culture of continuous learning aligned with our company needs, culture, and values. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders, human resources, and other stakeholders to identify needs and lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive talent development programs to equip Allegacy’s team members with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to thrive in their careers. Focus areas may include workforce training, professional development, leadership development, coaching, and succession planning.
Specific Accountabilities
- Develop and implement a strategic talent development plan supporting Allegacy’s strategic annual and long-range plans.
- Lead and develop a team of dedicated talent professionals committed to developing and delivering high impact performance solutions.
- Engage with business leaders to understand the state of the organization, assess talent development needs, anticipate future needs, and to prepare the organization to meet its growth and performance goals.
- Work closely with business leaders to analyze and identify the root cause of performance gaps. Design, develop, and implement high-impact performance solutions that demonstrate measurable positive impact on Allegacy’s member and employee experience.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify, select, and engage candidates to participate in external development experiences and plans.
- Apply evidence based research and assessment tools to coach leaders in the creation and execution of individual development plans and paths.
- Support the succession planning process using an evidence based approach to identify and develop high potential employees.
- Collaborate with business partners to deliver learning experiences appropriate for all levels of the organization.
- Oversee the enterprise Knowledge Portal and supporting governance process and team. Consult with business leaders to promote each department’s ownership for writing and maintaining operational working instructions in Allegacy’s online repository.
- Evaluate and administer the organization’s LMS or LXP and deploy its resources in a manner that promotes learner engagement and development.
RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical, creative, grammar)
- Intermediate proficiency using MS Office Suite Applications including MS Teams.
- Ability to lead, coach, and manage team members to achieve successful outcomes.
- Working knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional methods, models, and measurement approaches.
- Ability to collaborate with business partners and SMEs to analyze talent needs and apply instructional design tools and methods to develop high impact solutions.
- Confidence in advising senior leaders, collaborating with senior leaders, and presenting to senior leaders.
- Ability to facilitate engaging instructor led classes in a virtual and onsite face-to-face environment.
- Working knowledge of project management techniques to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop engaging e-learning solutions using Articulate Storyline, Rise, and other e-learning design and video creation tools.
- Experience using artificial intelligence/large language models to promote efficiency and enhance outcomes.
- Knowledge and administration of Learning Management Systems or Learning Experience Platforms.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to achieve targeted goals.
- Experience in budgeting and expense management.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in adult education, talent development, or related discipline preferred. A master’s degree in instructional design, education, or talent development is strongly preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from the Association for Talent Development or related graduate level certification.
- 5-7 years of experience working in a talent development role.
- 4 or more years of experience leading the talent development function.
