How Do I Access MyChart?
There are two easy ways to access MyChart:
- From an internet browser, go to https://mychart.methodisthealth.org/MyChart.
- On your mobile device, download the MyChart app. (Go to the App Store on iOS devices or Google Play on Android devices.)
How Do I Sign Up for a MyChart Account?
You can sign up for an account in several ways:
- You can ask your healthcare team to send you a one-step signup link.
- A MyChart activation code may appear on your After Visit Summary, or you may receive a text or an email with an activation code after your visit.
- You can request an activation code on the MyChart website or mobile app. Click “Sign Up,” then click “Sign Up Online.” You can then enter personal verification information, such as the last four digits of your social security number and date of birth, and request a code, which will be sent via email or text.
After you have an activation code, you can sign up easily on the website or through the mobile app.
- On the login screen, click “Sign Up.”
- Enter your activation code and personal verification information. Then click “Next.”
- Choose your login information, including a username, password and security question. Follow these tips:
- Choose a username that you can remember but is difficult for others to guess. Your username cannot be changed.
- Create a unique password that uses numbers and uppercase and lowercase letters. It cannot be the same as your username. Make sure your password is not the same one you use on other websites.
- Choose a security question to verify your identity if you forget your password. The answer cannot include your password.
You can then log in using your username and password.
You must be at least 14 years old to sign up for a MyChart account.
If you forget your login information, you can click “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?” on the login page for assistance. You will need to verify your identity by answering security questions. If you cannot recover your password after five attempts, you will need to follow the prompts to reset it. If you fail to reset your password after five attempts, your account will be deactivated. If this happens, you can contact the MyChart Help Desk at 901-516-0901 for help getting your account reactivated.
At the top of the MyChart home page, you’ll see shortcuts to some of the most commonly used features. Use the searchable menu to quickly find any other features or activities that do not appear in the shortcuts. You can also customize your shortcuts by clicking the symbol above them.
The health feed appears below the shortcuts. This shows important information and alerts, such as reminders for upcoming appointments and messages from your care team for you and family members you care for.
You can also watch videos in the Learning Library to learn more about the many features of MyChart. Go to the Menu and select “Learning Library” under Resources.
MyChart also allows you to easily manage your appointments. To request or schedule your next appointment, click the “Schedule an Appointment” tab on the front page of the MyChart site. On the next page, you can choose a provider or a reason for your appointment. Depending on what you choose, you will be directed to either schedule an appointment or request an appointment.
- Scheduling an appointment. When you schedule an appointment, you don’t need to wait to hear back from clinic staff. You can choose a time from the list of available slots and schedule the appointment yourself. If you don’t see a date or time that works for you, you can add yourself to the waitlist. Clinic staff will notify you if an earlier appointment time becomes available. You can also join the wait list after scheduling an appointment by clicking on “Details” next to your appointment on the Visits page.
- Requesting an appointment. When you request an appointment, you will send a request message to clinic staff. You will be prompted to enter the provider’s name, the reason for your visit, your preferred dates and times, and any additional comments about why you are requesting an appointment. After you submit your request, a clinic staff member will contact you with your appointment date and time. Your pending appointment request will appear under “Requested Appointments” on the Appointments and Visits page until the clinic confirms a date and time.
If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, you can often do so by going to the Appointment and Visits page. Choose the appointment, click “Cancel,” enter comments and click “Confirm Cancellation.”
You can also schedule video visits to meet with your provider from the comfort of your home or wherever you are. After clicking “Schedule an Appointment,” select “Video Visit” as the reason for your visit. Then select your provider and time slot and click on “Schedule.”
You can view and manage your current prescriptions on MyChart. Go to My Record and select “Medications.” Here, you can see details for all your medications. If you fill your prescriptions at a Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare pharmacy, you can also request refills using MyChart.
To request a refill:
- On your medications list or the health feed on the home page, click “Request refill.”
- Check the box next to the medication you need refilled and enter any comments.
- If you’d like to include additional medications needing refills soon, check “Include all refills due soon.”
- Click “Next.”
- Select a pharmacy and pickup date and time, or add delivery information.
- Click “Next.”
- Review your request for accuracy and click “Submit.”
When the pharmacy has processed your prescription refill, you will receive a message in your MyChart inbox. If the refill is delayed or requires action before the pharmacy can fill it, you will see a banner under the medication name in MyChart. Review the message in the banner to see if you need to take any action, such as updating your credit card information.
Some prescription refills require a visit with your provider before they can be processed.
You can view outstanding balances and make payments on MyChart. To make a payment for an outstanding balance, follow these steps:
- Go to the Menu and select “Billing Summary” under Billing.
- To see your billing information, go to Your Billing Accounts.
- To see billing information for people for whom you are an authorized billing user, go to Other Billing Accounts.
- Find the account you would like to pay and click “Pay Now.”
- Enter the amount of your payment and your bank account or credit card information and then click “Continue.”
- Review your payment, and click “Submit Payment.”
You can also sign up for automatic payments. Enroll in Visit Auto Pay when you check in for an in-person appointment or during eCheck-in before an appointment. This means you will have a credit card or bank account on file, and you agree to automatically pay a designated amount for your visit. Doing this reduces your balance before your billing statement is due.
To enroll for Visit Auto Pay during eCheck-in, select “Sign up” under Visit Auto Pay in the payment section.
To access your test results as soon as they become available, go to Test Results and select a test. You can also type keywords in the search field on the Test Results page. You will see your results and additional information, such as the standard range for that test and comments from your provider.
You can also view past test results and download a PDF of your results over time. Select the test result you want and click “View trends.” Click “Download” at the bottom of the page.
MyChart allows you to view, download and share your medical records.
- In the Menu, go to Sharing and click on “Sharing Hub.”
- Select “Download health and visit summary.”
- Choose a visit on the Single Visit tab or select multiple visits by using the Date Range tab or All Visits tab. Then take one of the following actions:
- Click “View” to view a copy of the visit summary.
- Click “Download” to save a copy of the visit summary for your records.
- If you would like to send a copy of your visit summary to a provider who works outside of your clinic, click “Send.”
You can also download formal copies of your health records to give to other organizations, such as your workplace or insurance company. Under Sharing, select “Sharing Hub” and click on “Request formal copy of health record.”
